Pangnirtung

The print shop originated in 1969 and in 1973 published, under the auspices of the Uqqurmiut Centre for Arts and Crafts, its first collection of limited-edition prints. Using the technique of stencilling, their style primarily featured scenes of Inuit life. A subtle palette of pastel colors was used giving the prints a distinctive appearance which appealed to a large audience.
